Scalable, Volunteer-Friendly AV-over-IP for a Modern Worship Campus
When Virgin Mary & St. Pachomius Coptic Orthodox Church in Stony Point, NY began building its new campus, they came to us with a clear goal: create a flexible video distribution system that could serve the sanctuary, overflow spaces, classrooms, and community areas — without requiring technical staff to operate it daily.
They needed power and flexibility. They also needed simplicity. IT Expert Solutions delivered.
The Challenge
The campus includes two projectors and six large displays in the sanctuary, plus additional screens in a crying room, social hall, and more than a dozen classrooms. In total, the Church required distribution to 26 displays, often with different content shown simultaneously.
Traditional matrix systems couldn’t deliver the flexibility or ease-of-use required. The Church needed a modern, scalable AV-over-IP solution that volunteers could confidently manage.
The Solution
IT Expert Solutions designed and deployed a Vanco EVO-IP AV-over-IP system to serve as the backbone of the campus video infrastructure
The system includes:
- 1 EVO-IP Control Box
- 6 transmitters connected to system sources
- 26 receivers — one at each display
Sources include the Church’s live broadcast system, Apple TV, and multiple HDMI floor boxes for guest presenters. To ensure a polished experience throughout the building, Vanco shipped the EVO-IP receivers with custom firmware that displays the church’s logo whenever no active video signal is present.
Using EVO-IP’s point-to-point routing, church volunteers can instantly send any source to any display. The EVO-IP system is operated daily by church volunteers through the EVO-IP web interface, which can be accessed from any laptop, tablet, or mobile device connected to the church network. During services, overflow areas can view live video on one screen and lyrics or readings on another, ensuring engagement in every space.
For Virgin Mary & St. Pachomius Coptic Orthodox Church, this project delivers more than video distribution: it supports accessibility, engagement, and inclusion across an entire campus. For IT Expert Solutions, the project underscores the value of AV-over-IP in modern worship environments: flexible, scalable, and powerful, without sacrificing simplicity.
